I recently read (and am now re-reading) a book called "A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy," which suggests how to live in the 21st century according to the principles of the Roman Stoics. Agree, and I was going to suggest a great book about Stoicism applied to modern life: “A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy” by William B. William Irvine, an academic philosopher in the USA (Irvine, 2009). Irvine isn't the first attempt to explain Stoicism to a modern audience, but this book seems to be better known than some of its predecessors.
